The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system. 14 identified and named objects orbit our star: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, Eris and Sedna orbit. 

The sun is a sphere of hot plasma interwoven with magnetic fields. The sun's diameter is about 865,374 miles. Our sun was once thought to be a very insignificant star, but was later proven to be brighter then most stars in the milky way.
