Neptune is the eighth and final planet in our solar system. It is the technical fourth Gas Giant and is the second Ice Giant. Neptune has it's own version of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, named "The Great Dark Spot" or "The Great Blue Spot." Neptune was discovered in Johhan Galle on 9/23/1843. Neptune was originally the second-to-last planet, but Neptune became the last when Pluto was demoted in 2006. In August 2014 (next year) the New Horizons probe will pass Neptune.
